Theresa May Seeks Brexit Extension to June 30

The British government has requested a delay to Brexit until June 30 to buy more time to get a divorce deal through Parliament. Prime Minister Theresa May wrote to European Council President Donald Tusk expressing her frustration at the failure of U.K. lawmakers to agree to a deal. She requested that the U.K. be able to leave before the end of June if a Brexit deal is passed in Parliament before then. Mrs. May said Britain didn't wish to participate in the EU parliamentary elections on May 23 and would aim to leave before this date.
