NEWS ALERT : Hong Kong Postpones Debate on China Extradition Bill as Protesters Swell in Opposition

Thousands of protesters blocked roads around Hong Kong's legislature, forcing lawmakers to postpone debate on an unpopular proposed law that would allow people to be extradited to China.

Crowds of mostly young people dragged metal barriers and linked arms across roads surrounding government headquarters, in scenes reminiscent of the protests that paralyzed parts of Hong Kong in 2014.

The renewed protests follow a mass demonstration on Sunday that organizers said drew a million people, but failed to derail the proposed legislation
